To ensure the Foundation's strong future, the Trustees have authorized a new initiative to build the Permanent Fund. This endowed fund, to which Rotarians already have contributed over $60 M, is invested in perpetuity. A portion of the funds is allocated to benefit Foundation programs. The earnings will provide an extra stream of income to meet the increasingly expensive delivery of international humanitarian, cultural, and educational activities and to ensure the Foundation's ability to meet urgent human needs into the future. A target of US$1 billion by 2025 has been established.
